At Orbit Research Ltd, we appreciate the excitement and opportunities that our wonderful space industry can provide for the education of our future engineers and scientists.
We're proud of our involvement in many different space education programmes.
Space Education engages young minds in the fields of Physics, Engineering and Mathematics. It has relevance for all age groups, and it provides a practical route through which many curriculum elements of these subjects can be taught.
Orbit Research has links to many space industry partners and specialises in bringing these links into an education environment. We are currently developing curriculum material related to the space industry for use in schools.

International Space Olympics
Though our links with Keighley College, in October 2003, we accompanied a group of local Guides and Scouts to the International Space Olympics in Korolev, Russia. This was a highly successful trip, which is to be repeated and expanded this year. Ian Jones from Orbit Research attended as the technical tutor for the team.
The International Space Olympics is an annual competition for young people aged up to 17. Examinations in maths, physics and computer science are taken, and the participants are also required to give a presentation about a space-related project they have prepared. Competition is tough, especially from the Russian teams, but the experience, including visits to Russian mission control, live link-ups with the International Space Station, and a tour of the Space Corporation Rocket Museum are not to be missed.
