Orbit Research Ltd was set up in January 1994 by Ian Jones, Gavin Foster and John Rogers (then Chairman of Multipoint Communications Ltd).
Since then Multipoint Communications was sold and has eventually ceased trading. Orbit Research Ltd is now fully independent, and is wholly owned by its current Directors, Ian Jones and Gavin Foster. We have carried out hardware and software development in the field of professional satellite communication earth station engineering for companies and major PTTs all around the World. Our clients include: COMSAT (USA), Teleglobe (Canada), Telstra (Australia), British Telecom, BBC, ETISALAT (UAE), Taiwan Space Agency, Eutelsat, Telenor (Norway), NDSatcom (Germany), EMP Trexcom (USA), Scientific Atlanta (USA), Pascall Electronics (UK), SSVC (UK), Macao Telecom, PT Telkom Indonesia, VST (UK).... As a small, flexible group of professional satellite communication engineers with a strong capability in electronics design, software engineering, project management, general management and training we are ideally positioned to offer a world-class approach to solving problems with solutions that work first time. We are committed to a high standard of engineering excellence. Our product range includes: Satellite Broadband Internet Systems Automatic Carrier Monitoring Systems Remote Control and Monitoring Systems Enhanced Automatic Frequency Control Automatic Test and Measurement Systems In addition to these products we offer highly competitive consultancy rates both for in-house developments and for deployment of our engineers at customer sites for short or long term contracts. We are keen to collaborate with other organisations where ever there is a mutual advantage to do so.
