International Space Olympics 2007
Friday 19th October

Been to the City Cinema and watched the International Space Station film along with a lecture from the Cosmonaut about his time in space. What a great opportunity. Back to the accommodation quick lunch ( at 2.00pm) and then on the bus to the Opening Ceremony and a practice before. This e-mail is coming from the party after the ceremony and all in all it has been a great time.
Thursday 18th October

Had breakfast of eggs peas and sausages - not bad. On the bus then for a Tour of Moscow - the traffic was horrid and we sat in a queue for ages but it was all worthwhile when we rounded a corner after the KGB building and saw St Basils Cathedral – WOW! Red Square is not red or square but is still extremely impressive.
Had lunch in a restaurant - really good and then went back to the accommodation. In the evening we introduced ourselves to the other participants of the Space Olympics and practiced our part in the Opening Ceremony. Food OK actually -
Wednesday 17th October

Can't believe it’s really here - 3.00 in the morning and I'm off the Russia to the International Space Olympics! It was dark but I was very excited. The planes at both stops Leeds Bradford International Airport and Schipol in the Netherlands were on time and having connected well arrived in Moscow about 3.00 in the afternoon Russian time.
Waited forever in the airport and Carol came back then we went to a restaurant for a meal. It was great but I was very tired. Arrived at the accommodation safe and sound, found our room (sharing with Lizzie and Naomi). A little cramped but OK.
Will see what tomorrow brings.
